On March 23, 2013 at approximately 5:40 p.m., an Auto / Motorcycle fataltraffic collision occurred on South Nellis Boulevard at East Linda Avenue. Evidence atthe scene indicated that a Harley Davidson motorcycle with a single rider wastraveling north onNellis Boulevard at Linda Avenue in the centertravel lane. An Acura Integra was exiting a private driveway from 3210 SouthNellis Boulevard. The Acura traveled west acrossthe northbound lanes of Nellis Boulevard in front ofthe path of the Harley Davidson motorcycle which resulted in a collision. The front of the Harley Davidson struck the leftside ofthe Acura ejecting the rider. The rider ofthemotorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene by responding medical personnel. The driver ofthe Acura wastransported to Sunrise Trauma Centerformoderate injuries. This is the 31st traffic related fatality in LVMPD’sjurisdiction in 2013. This collision remains underinvestigation by the LVMPD Accident Investigation Section.

    People need to be made more aware of other vehicles on the road. Their eyes are so used to seeing same size vehicles as their own. People don’t look fully,they just glance then go. By the time they realize a bicycle,motorcycle, etc. is right there it is too late. Now someone dui is another comment.
