Las Vegas: Police Seize 284 Pounds Of Cocaine
On March 22 at 3:45 a.m., the HIDTA Interdiction Task Force stopped an 18 wheel semi-truck for a traffic violation while it was driving north on I-15 at Craig Road. The initial investigation revealed the driver was in possession of narcotics. As a result of this investigation the Task Force recovered approximately 284 pounds of cocaine from within the vehicle. The seizure has an estimated street value of $10.9 million. The driver was identified as 52 year-old Rahul Grewal. He was arrested and transported to the Clark County Detention Center where he faces charges of Trafficking in Controlled Substance Cocaine and Transporting a Controlled Substance for Sale Cocaine.
The HITDA Task Force is comprised of Law Enforcement Officers from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Drug Enforcement Administration, Nevada Highway Patrol, Henderson Police Department and the Mesquite Police Department.
