Rand Paul Plays the Fool Again!

Rand Paul Plays the Fool Again

The Senate was in the process of confirming John Brennan as President Obama’s nominee to head the CIA.  Senator Rand Paul, (R, Kentucky), has decided to filibuster, and not in the new way, the Jimmy Stewart variety in “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington”.  But Rand’s is not noble.  He is upset about the “drone” policy of the Obama administration.

Senators Mike Lee and Ted Cruz decided to join him.  I will say one thing, he refused to talk about the reality that Mr. Brennan will eventually receive enough votes, and he swore he would do just what he is doing, talk until he had to ‘pass the baton’ to another Republican.

The TEA Party favorite will do anything but work.  He’s simply beginning his party’s campaign for the Presidency in 2016.  He is, bluntly put, an “attention whore”.  And he’s following in the Republican tradition of tearing everything apart, and not offering a single constructive idea.  But, I do forgive him, partially.  In order to have a constructive idea, one has to have an intelligent idea first.

His major complaint, this time is that he received a letter from Attorney General Eric Holder informing him that drone strikes within the United States would remain a remote possibility, such as in the case of the attacks on 9/11.  I guess if, God forbid, there were ever another attack of that variety we should just sit by and let it happen, and react later while we sit in an elementary school classroom.

I try to be fair minded.  With Rand I have really tried.  His father had some good and bad ideas, but they were ideas.  He didn’t believe in a policy of using the wrecking ball on every good idea that has happened in the last 75 years.  But Rand is void of ideas, and he wants to void many of the hard fought laws that have helped so many people.

So, shut up and get to work.  Try it.  You might like accomplishing something in your life.

Really? Being against the domestic use of military drones against U.S. citizens isn’t a “noble” stance? If that’s not noble then I don’t know what is. Ignoring your incredibly immature, biased “journalism” and aside from your personal gripes with Senator Paul, do you at least agree domestic use of drones on U.S. citizens is something we should be concerned about?
