Ravens or Steelers, Dumervil is a Good Fit

Thanks to his agent’s mistake, defensive end Elvis Dumervil is no longer a Denver Bronco.  He had a verbal agreement to re-structure his contract and remain in Denver.  A legal timeline expired and he was looking for a new home.  He has fired his agent.

It appears both the Baltimore Ravens and the Pittsburgh Steelers are interested.

With the release of James Harrison, outside linebacker, Pittsburgh could use another pass rusher, Dumervil’s specialty.  But free agent signings in “Steeler Country” are rare.  They have shown no interest in paying large salaries to one player in the past.

In addition, they have several young players who will be carefully evaluated by the coaches.

The Ravens gave away most of their defense, although it was less than outstanding during the regular season last year.  With Lewis, Ellerbe, Bernard Pollard, Paul Kruger, and possibly Ed Reed all gone they will have problems.  In addition they lost their “go-to” receiver Anquan Boldin, and center Matt Birk who retired.

Dumervil would help a devastated defense.

The question this season will be, “was Joe Flacco’s huge contract worth the loss of so many valued players”?

  • Bankers Fleecing the Poorest Among Us as Workers Receive Pre-paid Credit Cards Instead of Paychecks! June 18, 2013
I guess it’s easier to find 100 people with a dollar in their pocket than to find 1 person with a hundred dollars in their pocket.  The Bankruptcy Bill passed in 2005 was designed to ensure bank profits and fleeced the American people, communities and businesses.  Prior to the bill, the only debts that could […]
