The NRA May Be a Little Scared for the First Time
In an attempt to influence public opinion, the NRA is spending some of its lobby money on NASCAR. The only problem is, they’re “preaching to the choir”. The event is in Texas where guns are more important than iPhones.
They will sponsor the first event held under the lights April 13th in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series to be held at the Texas Motor Speedway. It will be called the “NRA 500”.
The event in Fort Worth is “not about politics”, said Texas Motor Speedway President Eddie Gossage. Well, maybe not, but the driver who secures the pole position gets a rifle, and the winner will shoot a “six gun” in victory lane.
The NRA is showing desperation that there may be some changes to the nation’s gun laws. The tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary on December 14th has forced reasonable men and women re-evaluate the definition and meaning of the second amendment.
