4 Arrested In Connection With Missing Insurance Examiner

Nevada’s chief insurance examiner, William McCune, has been missing since Thursday.  He failed to show up for work, and then missed a work-related flight.  Authorities went to his home Thursday around 8:30 in the morning.  His apartment had been ransacked and there were traces of blood.

Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong told KTVN that a wrapped body was found in the Carson River around 8 a.m. Saturday.  It has not been determined if it is that of the 62-year-old McCune.

After investigation, detectives arrested 23-year old Michael Evans in Carson City in connection with McCune’s disappearance. He is charged with murder, murder of an older person, battery with a deadly weapon causing substantial bodily harm and burglary.

Investigators also traveled to Las Vegas and made arrests of three more suspects. 20-year old Makyla Blackmore is charged with burglary, 22-year old Raul Garcia is also charged with burglary, and 20-year old Anthony Elliott is charged with murder.

Forensic specialists are continuing to process McCune’s residence.  Sheriff Furlong told reporters that although they have made four arrests, the investigation is ongoing.
