Atlanta Man attempts to commits suicide at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport

We have preliminary information that indicates the man intended to jump and his death appears consistent with a suicide at this time.

On 4-13-13, approximately 9:05 p. m., an Atlanta Police officer, working at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, was stopped by a customer and advised that a male needed assistance near an escalator. This escalator led down to the train level on Concourse E. The officer proceeded to the location. The officer looked over the rail and saw a male lying unresponsive near a maintenance room. It appears that the male fell or jumped from the top level of the concourse. The officer went down to check the male; the male was unresponsive. Medical assistance was called and the male was transported to Grady Hospital in critical condition. This male is now deceased.

Please change title. Yes he attempted…and he died. It should be “Man commits suicide” not, “Man attempts suicide”
