Ellen Degeneres is returning to her role as Dory in “Finding Dory”
After much speculation and rumors the truth has come out and everyone is on aboard for the sequel to 2003’s “Finding Nemo.” Academy award winning and top grossing animated film “Finding Nemo” is getting a sequel, titled “Finding Dory.” This time around Dory the forgetful and chatty blue tang fish voiced by Ellen DeGeneres is the star and the film centers around Dory reuniting with her “loved ones.” The story is set in part off the coast of California and takes places one year after Nemo.
Characters that are returning for the sequel are of course clown fish Nemo, his father Marlin and the Tank Gang.
“Finding Dory” is set to kick off the 2015 Thanksgiving holiday season as it is projected to be released November 25, 2015.
“There is no Dory without Ellen. She won the hearts of moviegoers all over the world – not to mention our team here at Pixar,” 2003’s “Finding Nemo’s” co-director said of Ellen DeGeneres returning to reprise her role and voice Dory once again.
“I’m excited that it’s finally happening. I read the script and it’s fantastic, it’s hilarious, it’s warm, it’s everything that you want it to be,” Ellen DeGeneres said as she announced the news of “Finding Dory” on her daytime talk show, “Ellen.”
“Finding Nemo” brought in $922 million at worldwide box offices, won an academy award for best animated feature and ranked fourth among animated films.
