Equestrian Clinic at Rancharrah in Reno Presented by Horse Power, April 18 – 21
Horse Power, the Reno area non-profit focused on the preservation of wild Mustang horses and Burros, is presenting a Horsemanship Feel and Release Equestrian Clinic featuring Leslie Desmond.
Desmond is an international horsemanship coach and co-author of the book “True Horsemanship Through Feel” with horseman and rancher, Bill Dorrance of Salinas, CA (1906-1999). Says Desmond, “A person can learn to set any horse up to succeed using ‘Feel and Release’. Horses understand it immediately, because it is their language.”
The event features Desmond explaining the process of Feel and Release and the no fear training methods. She will work with two demonstration horses of different breed and varying training levels, individually for 90 minutes each for 4 days. Additionally, she will work with three varied riding styles/levels of horse/rider pairs for 90 minutes per pair for each of three days.
The event will be held at Rancharrah Elite Events Center, 6001 Talbot Lane, Reno, Nevada.
Tickets are available online for $45 per day or $135 for all four days for a discount of $45. Tickets may be purchased on the day of the event for cash only, with no discount.
Desmond invites those under the age of 21 to attend the event free.
Sally Summers of HorsePower says, “We want to use the program as part of our ‘Segue’ program. It is developed off of real-life needs; we know if we are seeing a problem and a need, others must be seeing it, too.” She encourages everyone with an interest in training their animal to attend the event.
