Another State Tells All Women to Leave
The United States is a nation that has become a monarchy of the religious right. Women have no respect and no control over their own bodies in many states. The dubious intelligence of the legislators of the state of Kansas have totally eliminated any type of abortion in their state. The men in their government have declared that women are 4th class citizens.
Kansas has declared that life “begins at fertilization.” And in a strange twist, has abandoned abortions based on sex.
The House voted 90-30 for the bill on Friday night, hours after the Senate voted 28-10 in favor of it. Governor Brownback is likely to sign the bill into law.
Another state has passed a law to evade the Constitutional amendment of Roe vs. Wade when women were given the right to regulate the condition and damage to their own bodies caused by the result of an unwanted pregnancy.
Men in the states that support such legislation are no more than antiquated misogynists. And they will pay the price.
Women are a growing majority in the political and corporate world. Women are now in the largest percentage of college graduates and no longer seek marriage as the most important content of their lives. Soon men, who believe they have no responsibility in the conception of a child, will be a minority. Puritanical beliefs are in the minority. Agnosticism and Atheism are on the rise primarily as a result of the effort of the religious right to control the United States of America.
Einstein had a theory. “For every action, there is an opposite and equal reaction”. This is a proven fact, and for women in America it is a precipitous reality.
When Hillary Clinton is elected President of the United States in 2016, and the “boys” are removed from their positions of power, common sense may finally come to America.
“If men were the sex that had to deliver children into the world, we would have been extinct centuries ago.” I heard this comment decades ago, and I know for a fact it is true.
I watched my first wife give birth to both of my children. There is no man I have ever known who could endure the physical pain and the emotional insecurity that women experience.
For men to make laws governing the complex circumstances of a woman facing child birth is impossible. If any man truly believes that a woman’s decision to terminate a pregnancy is effortless, he is totally absorbed in his male dominated existence.
If women lacked the internal desire, the emotional urge to have children, the human race would have become non-existent thousands of years ago. For a woman to consciously make the decision to end a pregnancy is an act of courage. And, this act will have its consequences. But these consequences must be the choice of a woman, and hers alone.
Religion is not law. Religion is a belief. Forcing a belief on any individual is by definition Un-Constitutional.
The United States was intentionally founded on an anti-religion formula. Free thought and freedom of individual action were its foundation. If we are to abide by the intention of our founding fathers we must cease to allow special interests such as religion and politics to control our country.
Personal beliefs are important, because freedom of expression is important. But small groups and religious zealots must not be allowed to control the rights of individuals who disagree with their beliefs. All men are created equal and must enjoy the benefits and protection of life, liberty, and independence.
This also applies to women.
