Miami man abducted 3 children in car outside grocery store

On April 29, 2013 at approximately 2:20 PM, Mr. Milhomme had just picked up his two kids and a nephew from Morningside Elementary School. On the way home, Mr. Milhomme stopped at St. Jacques store located at NW 1st Court and 62nd Street. He left all three kids inside a car with the engine running to handle some personal errand. Upon coming back outside, he discovers that his car the kids inside missing.

The vehicle was spotted approximately two hours later in the area of NW 1st Avenue and 58th Street, based on the BOLO issued for a 2005 gray Ford 500 bearing FL tag BIQ P43. The driver was stopped and taken into custody. All three kids were quickly reunited with family members. While talking to the family and kids, it was discovered that the subject took by force $5.00 from one of the scared and helpless children. The investigation also revealed that the father had left the kids unattended for fifteen minutes contrary his statement of just two minutes.

Driver – Velan Verdier, D.O.B. 2/12/1980, of 533 Meridian Avenue, Miami Beach, FL 33139 arrested and charged with:
· 1 count of Grand Theft Auto

· 3 counts Abduction

· 1 count of Armed Robbery

Father – Anthony Milhomme, D.O.B. 4/25/1979, 501 NE 68th Street, Miami, FL 33138, arrested and charged with:
· 3 counts of Child Neglect

· 1 count of Obstruction
