According to a police report obtained by Variety, “Mrs. Witherspoon began to hang out the window and say that she did not believe I was a real police officer. I told Mrs. Witherspoon to sit on her butt and be quiet.”
Witherspoon was handcuffed after disobeying repeated instruction from the arresting officer to stay inside the vehicle.

The actress was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after she allegedly got into a verbal battle with a police officer. This all took place during her husband’s DUI arrest that happened on Friday night in Atlanta, GA. His blood alcohol level was .139.
Witherspoon is charged with disorderly conduct for getting into a verbal fight with the police officer. Toth, whose blood alcohol level was recorded as .139, has been charged with driving while intoxicated. The Oscar-winning actress, who is currently in the city shooting her new movie ‘The Good Lie’, allegedly got into a war of words with a police officer during her husband’s arrest in Atlanta and arrested, according to gossip website TMZ.com.
Both her and her husband were released early on Saturday morning on bond.
