Atlanta: neighborhood canvass in connection of pedestrian shot in the face while walking on Grant StreetOn 05/17/2013, Zone 6 handled a person shot call at 591 Grant Street. It appears that the victim was walking in the area of Grant Street and Georgia Avenue when he was shot one time in the face and unfortunately at this point may have lost vision in one eye. While on scene several witnesses were located and interviewed and it appears that one shot was fired and that two young black males were seen running from the area shortly after the shot was fired. At this point in the investigation no new leads have surfaced and no suspects have been identified.

Zone 6 is coordinating a neighborhood canvass in connection with this shooting and is requesting any and all assistance The canvass will be conducted on Tuesday, May 28, 2013. The staging area for the canvass will be in the main parking lot of the Atlanta Zoo/ Cyclorama which is located off of Cherokee Avenue and the briefing for the canvass will be at 3:30 p. m. The canvass will begin immediately after the briefing. Zone 6 will provide detailed maps of the area and will designate specific areas that we wish to have canvassed. As you are aware, Homicide conducts these canvasses frequently and have had a huge amount of success as a result. Zone 6 hopes for the same result and your assistance is greatly appreciated and will not go unrecognized.
