The Fight: Is this really about Women’s Bodies or Something Else?
Many people don’t realize this but ever since Obama took office the CDC stopped tracking abortion statistics and reporting them publicly even though statistics have been kept and public record every year methodically before that.
I wonder how they’ll attempt to blame George Bush for this?
The rest of the government’s CDC website is amazingly up to date, even other women issues – so this is rather glaring. The Gosnell trial highlights so many things that Liberals don’t want us to know and that is that they don’t want women to know the real numbers, for those who might not believe in abortion to have federally researched statistics. If pro lifers or true pro-choicers (those who really want ALL options available to women) want statistics they have to spend their own money, time and effort. This greatly limits opposing data while also setting up the ability for Liberal lawmakers to immediately dismiss any studies as unproven, unscientific, flawed, skewed and thus greatly limit having to open up true dialog and discuss the actual facts about women’s options regarding unplanned and/or unwanted pregnancies.
Report of the Grand Jury
Entire Grand Jury Report here. Warning photographs of actual victims, ghoulish conditions and written accounts by deposed former employees that will haunt you forever:
“This case is about a doctor who killed babies and endangered women. What we mean is that he regularly and illegally delivered live, viable, babies in the third trimester of pregnancy – and then murdered these newborns by severing their spinal cords with
scissors. The medical practice by which he carried out this business was a filthy fraud in which he overdosed his patients with dangerous drugs, spread venereal disease among them with infected instruments, perforated their wombs and bowels – and, on at least two occasions, caused their deaths. Over the years, many people came to know that something was going on here. But no one put a stop to it.
Let us say right up front that we realize this case will be used by those on both sides of the abortion debate. We ourselves cover a spectrum of personal beliefs about the morality of abortion. For us as a criminal grand jury, however, the case is not about that
controversy; it is about disregard of the law and disdain for the lives and health of mothers and infants. We find common ground in exposing what happened here, and in recommending measures to prevent anything like this from ever happening again.
The “Women’s Medical Society”
That was the impressive-sounding name of the clinic operated in West Philadelphia, at 38th and Lancaster, by Kermit B. Gosnell, M.D..”
There is no Liberal that wants that read out loud by ANY major news station or attention paid to what the introduction to what is the epic Trial of Horrors that is going on right now in the City of Liberty, Philadelphia.
Why? Right away the focus isn’t really about abortion or God which paralyzes the issue and causes the JWF to occur. You either believe in God and that abortion is murder or you don’t and the two shall not meet for the most part.
This is about women getting treated like pieces of meat to gruesome, cruel procedures that are carry massive health risks and no one cared since 1979 because:
The stark truth about abortion is highlighted in the Gosnell case and documents submitted as evidence which will be public record and normally, if abortion were not the issue, gone over ad nauseum by reporters as they ask their audiences ‘how can we stop this’. But they don’t want to change anything.
Censoring the Conversation and Hiding the Truth
The numerous consent forms Gosnell had patients sign will be a wake-up call for most women and girls who are thinking about abortion as an option for an unwanted pregnancy. Keep in mind that Gosnell had standard forms, one required by the State Pennsylvania Abortion Statute, that not only explained the risks but also very cleverly are written in a way to push women to choose abortion over giving birth. These forms are not just in Pennsylvania but almost identical versions of them are in every single abortion clinic. I wonder when teaching about abortion in high schools do any teachers read over these forms to sexually curious teenagers? I’ve never heard of it happening and I would place a bet that Liberals would protest.
Risks which are explained and verbiage used in the forms are standard in most abortion clinics but hardly ever went over in detail or highlighted as something that really could happen. Women I’ve known who’ve had abortions in even top-notch clinics have told me that the forms are often presented as an afterthought with the actual fine print heavily glossed over. One girlfriend of mine remembers the nurse tapping the signature line while she asked how often complications happen. But that is my heresay.
What is not heresay are the facts that are stated in the mandatory consent forms abortion doctors must have patients sign which are that women get punctured and ruptured bowels, their uteruses damaged and are rendered sterile due to botched abortions in clinics all over America every day. Women are sent home with pieces of their dead fetuses still inside of them that rot, fester and cause fever, infection and complications every single day.
Fertility clinics that specialize in helping women who’ve had botched abortions are everywhere, trying to right wrongs as these women are finally ready to have a child only to have scars from past decisions haunt them.
Psychologically abortion screws with women’s minds, a study of the medical records of 56,741 California medicaid patients revealed that women who had abortions were 160 percent more likely than delivering women to be hospitalized for psychiatric treatment in the first 90 days following abortion or delivery. Rates of psychiatric treatment remained significantly higher for at least four years. 3
A ridiculously huge amount of women who kill themselves have undergone abortions. Researchers in Finland have identified a strong statistical association between abortion and suicide in a records based study (see figure at the right). They found that the mean annual suicide rate for all women was 11.3 per 100,000 but the rate for women following abortion was 34.7 per 100,000, three times higher. The suicide rate associated with birth, by contrast, was half the rate of all women and less than one-sixth the rate of suicide among women who had abortions. How must you hate…really hate…women to not tell them this
I was wondering that when about a week and a half ago an Ohio State student went on a rampage destroying Pro-Life posters on campus. She was videotaped and her reason for being Pro-Choice had nothing to do with the good of women. In fact, she was rather vile-filled and it was very clarifying to me and an “A-HA!” moment because she really isn’t some lone kook, like the teachers and media she consumes and believes in she too now thinks abortion is ok because “Do you want to pay for welfare babies born of crack moms? I don’t.” (direct quote)
I have a hard time reading the Grand Jury Gosnell stuff not because of the photographs of the blood stained dirty and rusted gurney or the fetus bags in the fridge or the baby feet he macabre-ly kept for some weird perverted fetish; what I find horrifying is the reality and mundane side of abortion. (Edited for content..)
Dr. Gosnell routinely gave Cytotec (the consent to use it can be found in the documents I’ve linked) to patients which softens and stretches the uterus thus making the birth of the “fetus” easier. You see, for legal later term abortions the women have to give birth to the baby, placenta and all. It was not uncommon for his staff to escort sweaty, moaning topless women, all who had been given Cytotec and placed in stained chairs to labor away together to the bathroom where they gave birth to still and in some cases live births in the toilet. Who knows how many women died during or soon after that but it was chalked up to “normal complications of child-birth” rather than abortion.
In fact, there is so much glaring oppression in these routine consent forms that it isn’t just some ancillary crazy doctor gone bad story but a real wake-up call to the real issue of abortion and women’s true right to choose.
It is not a choice unless you have ALL the facts.
It is not choice when the only alternatives funded and pushed are hormone-laden contraceptives, surgical implants and sterilization while other less-costly and more natural options such as abstinence and/or adoption are either dismissed as “ridiculous to suggest” or totally glossed over. Adoption is often cited as being particularly difficult for minorities as those girls are told that their babies will be much harder to adopt with horror tales of minority babies growing up in a broken foster care system. In a study of post-abortion patients only 8 weeks after their abortion, researchers found that 44% complained of nervous disorders, 36% had experienced sleep disturbances, 31% had regrets about their decision, and 11% had been prescribed psychotropic medicine by their family doctor. (2) A 5 year retrospective study in two Canadian provinces found significantly greater use of medical and psychiatric services among women with a history of abortion. Most significant was the finding that 25% of women who had abortions made visits to psychiatrists as compared to 3% of the control group. (3) Women who have had abortions are significantly more likely than others to subsequently require admission to a psychiatric hospital. At especially high risk are teenagers, separated or divorced women, and women with a history of more than one abortion.
Since many post-abortive women use repression as a coping mechanism, there may be a long period of denial before a woman seeks psychiatric care. These repressed feelings may cause psychosomatic illnesses and psychiatric or behavioral in other areas of her life. As a result, some counselors report that unacknowledged post-abortion distress is the causative factor in many of their female patients, even though their patients have come to them seeking therapy for seemingly unrelated problems.
