Chicago Police, Firefighters, and Paramedics Rescue Two Mothers and Their Children from Lawndale Fire

WHAT: An Ogden District (10th) Patrol Officer rushed into a fire at a 3-story home in the Lawndale neighborhood where he alerted the second floor residents and escorted to safety a mother, her five children, and her pets. The Officer also attempted to rescue a woman trapped in a burning third floor apartment, but was overcome by smoke. Chicago Firefighters rescued the woman and her son as they extinguished the fire and prevented it from spreading to neighboring homes and apartments. Paramedics treated the 54-
year-old mother and her 21-year-old son before transporting them to local hospitals where they were treated and released.
