A Chinese newborn baby was recused by Chinese firefighters after the baby got flushed down the toilet by it’s mother.
The dramatic rescue occurred after alarmed neighbours heard the baby’s from a fourth-floor apartment toilet. The same neighbours saw a tiny foot inside a ceramic bowl. There was a baby inside.
The State broadcaster CCTV reported that the neighbours then rang the fire department. The firefighters responded but were unable to pull the newborn out. They then went to the floor below and sawed away an entire section of sewer pipe.
With the baby wedged tightly inside, the section of the freed pipe and the newborn were taken to a local hospital. The firefighters and the hospital’s doctors worked together and they began to remove the pipe from around the newborn infant, piece by piece.
In the video you can see the exact moment a pair of hands in white gloves tenderly pulls part of the pipe away and reveals the newborn’s tiny face.
The afterbirth was still attached.
The state broadcaster CCTV reported that the infant, a baby boy, was rescued Saturday. He is listed in stable condition.
No one has come forward to claim the child, and police say they are looking for his parents.
The local Jinhua police issued an appeal on the social media website Weibo and said, “Mom, come back! The baby is resilient and alive. Please show up, Mom. This is your own baby and he should return to your warm embrace soon.”
