The CW network has just announced that they will be broadcasting the 15th annual Young Hollywood Awards on the 1st of August 2013; the network is partnered with Penske Media Corporation.
Both Jay Penske, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Penske Media Corporation (PMC), who is also owner and Executive Producer of the award show, and Mark Pedowitz, President of CW confirmed that the two companies were hosting the event.
Penske was quoted on Futon Critic as saying: “I’m so pleased PMC and The CW will partner for our biggest year yet of the Young Hollywood Awards, spotlighting our show’s proven evolution in honoring and celebrating the accomplishments of the entertainment industry’s rising stars. The Young Hollywood Awards celebrates emerging young talent, and The CW Network has established the careers of some of the brightest young stars – making this alliance all the more perfect for the significant 15th anniversary of this eminent event.”
Mark Pedowitz the President of CW added, “We are thrilled to be able to join forces with Jay and PMC to broadcast The Young Hollywood’s premier award show, as we continue to eventize our summer schedule. Not only does this allow us to celebrate the year’s best emerging talent in film, music and television, but it perfectly fits with The CW’s brand and further establishes us as the place to find many of today and tomorrow’s up-and-coming stars.”
The Young Hollywood Awards ceremony has been an ‘A’ list event since it began and has featured many of today’s stars when they started out. Actors like Scarlett Johansson, Dakota Fanning, Justin Bieber,Jessica Alba, Mila Kunis are just a few of the professionals who’ve been awarded at past events.

The Young Hollywood Awards will be in addition to the two aired award ceremonies that it currently hosts; The Style Awards and Breakthrough of the Year Awards.
The CW marked its formal launch date on September 20, 2006, with a two-hour season premiere of America’s Next Top Model. The network’s target demographic is the younger audience ranging in age from 18 to 34. The network currently runs programming six days a week: Monday through Friday in the afternoon and in primetime (6pm to 11pm) including a Saturday morning children’s programming block.The CW is also available in Canada on cable, satellite and IPTV providers.
One of the advantages of having the CW broadcast the show, is their 1080pi high definition (HD) feed. Since March 2012 last year, they have been transmitting all their programs in HD including their Saturday morning children’s television shows. The company have been steadily increasing their participation in the digital world since 2011 with an interactive game that resembled Bingo and started a new website called CWD that allowed users to upload original content.
The Young Hollywood Award nominees will be announced June 2013 as part of the run-up to the actual event in August.
