Ellen Degenres along with Shutterfly gave $50,000 to Virginia elementary school

America’s favorite talk show host Ellen Degeneres recently teamed up with Shutterfly and presented Weems elementary with a $50,000 check. Weems elementary is a title 1 school in need of uniforms.

The schools principal Angela Burnett is a devoted fan of Ellen’s show. So when news broke that her school would be receiving $50,000 from Ellen. Ms Burnett was more than thankful.

Ms Burnett was flown to Los Angeles for a taping of the Ellen Show after Weems elementary school Liberian Rachael Kirkland wrote the show. Ms Kirkland was seeking help for an uniform initiative and now with Ellen’s new gift to the school. The school may now pay for uniforms for its students.

Also, Ellen and Shutterfly teamed up and provided each student at Weems elementary with a yearbook.
