I-5 bridge collapse over Skagit River in North Seattle (Video)

According to AP the I-5 bridge collapse over  Skagit River in North Seattle, dumping vehicles in the water with people inside.  At the moment the cause of the collapse is unknown. The Seattle bridge collapse around 7:00pm no immediate estimates of how many vehicles were in the water or whether there any injuries at the moment.

Emergency crews raced to the scene, where some motorists could be seen sitting on top of their cars waiting to be rescued. Rescue boats where at the scene of the accident together with several rescue ambulances waiting on the shore.

The highway and bridge are the main corridor for car traffic between Seattle and Vancouver. The bridge on the I-5 highway crosses the Skagit River about 100 kilometres north of Seattle.

The cause of the collapse was not immediately known.
