Kanye West has had a pretty stressful week. It appears that between “head-butting” (also known as a “Liverpool Kiss”) a street sign and then his car being eaten by his “sweetie” Kim Kardashian’s very heavy electronic gate it looked as though he’d spent all his pent up rage. Then, Kanye goes and drops the F-Bomb on the Saturday Night Live folks.
He even went so far as to tell his fans not to expect any SNL skits this weekend.
But to be fair, the rapper, who put the ego in egocentric, not only unloaded on SNL but he gave an expletive fuelled rant about the paparazzi and his own celebrity status at the Adult Swim upfronts Wednesday night when he performed at the Roseland Ballroom.
Complex magazine, which posted some video from the TV industry event, said that Kim Kardashian’s ‘street sign stopping’ sweetie and father of the baby that she’s carrying didn’t hold back during his hour-long set.
His, according to Complex, half singing/half talking (ranting) went something like this, “One thing about me, I’m the worst kinda … celebrity because all I do is make real music. All I do is sit in the studio and make real, real (bleep). And that’s it.”
That was the first verse, the second verse was much like the first:
“That’s mother (bleeping)ing it. … So I don’t want nobody trying to run up on me with no cameras, trying to sell pictures and sh– to magazines, asking me no dumbass questions, throwing me off of my focus …” he continued. “Harassing you all (bleeping) day. I ain’t no (bleeping) celebrity.”
It seems that what has really got Kanye seeing stars is that both times he’s had an “unfortunate” moment, the paparazzi photographers have caught it on film.
Walk into a street sign? Snap, snap, snap! It’s on the net; in the news; in the media.
Fancy and expensive wheels get eaten by Kim’s gates? Snap, snap, snap! Again.
Of course all this unwelcome attention is happening on the run up to the week that Kanye is set to be the SNL musical guest, with Argo-man Ben Affleck as the host of the season finale of Saturday Night Live this weekend.
In his upfront performance rant, Kanye said a friend asked him whether he planned to go on SNL and ” ‘do, like, a skit about the paparazzi and … like humanize yourself?'”
Kanye replied: “I ain’t here to apologize to no [one], man. It ain’t about me humanizing myself. At what point did I become un-human where I had to turn myself back? Or maybe I was demonized. Or maybe I was treated inhumane and not human in that kind of situation.”
He added, “I’m trying to make some music that inspires people to be the best they can be. I don’t want nobody to ask NOTHING ELSE OF ME. Don’t ask nothing else of me. …. nah I ain’t doing no (bleeping) SNL skits … this my … life. This ain’t no (bleeping) joke. That’s it.”
That’s right! An overly sensitive rapper superstar who has lost his sense of humour is definitely no joke.
