Former NFL players Keyshawn Johnson and Eric Dickerson are not fans of pop star Justin Bieber. Reports coming out of TMZ report that the pop star’s driving habits in his gated community in Calabasas, California offended at least two of his neighbors. Bieber reportedly has been speeding through the otherwise quiet neighborhood in his Ferarri, a dangerous move in a peaceful area.
Perhaps the person most offended by his driving habits was the former outspoken receiver of the New York Jets, Keyshawn Johnson. The author of Just Give Me the Damn Ball was leaving a party on Sunday night as Bieber flew past at a speed Johnson deemed too high. Keyshawn hopped into his Prius and after dropping off his kids at home, took off towards Bieber to give the young star a lesson in the rules of the road.
Arriving at Bieber’s house, the retired receiver blocked off the driveway so that Bieber could not simply drive away. He then approached the teenage heartthrob, who fled into his house and refused to come out and discuss the issue with his neighbor.
Drawing the ire of one NFL great wasn’t enough for the pop star. Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson also discussed on his Twitter how he felt about the incident. “I live in Calbasas too and @JustinBieber needs to slow his ass down.” That’s a bad cruise for the young man, in one night he managed to make sure that neighbors Keyshawn Johnson and Eric Dickerson will not be fans.
Showcasing his immaturity is nothing new for Justin Bieber lately, he has recently made headlines for numerous actions. The funny part about this story is the maturity shown by Keyshawn Johnson. During his playing days, Johnson was one of the league’s original diva receivers. Anyone who would go to the length of writing a book about how his team needs to get him the ball was once certainly on the level of Terrell Owens and other immature athletes.
Despite the fact that Keyshawn Johnson and Eric Dickerson aren’t fans of Justin Bieber, that doesn’t mean that the pop star couldn’t learn a thing or two from the former receiver. If an incident like this ever happens again, and something tells me it will if Bieber continues to live in the neighborhood, then Bieber may well benefit from opening his door instead of hiding.
Keyshawn has changed a lot since his playing days, leaving his cocky attitude and ego behind him, he has began a successful career as an NFL analyst. He is a respected member of the NFL community as well as his neighborhood. The fact that he was driving a Prius in his chase after Bieber is almost hard to imagine when one thinks back to the Keyshawn of his playing days.
Keyshawn Johnson and Eric Dickerson may not be Bieber fans, however the young icon would be wise if he chose to learn something from the two all stars. Johnson has grown a lot as a person since his playing days, and could relate to the struggles Bieber is facing now. Perhaps this could turn into a positive experience for the two.
