Las Vegas: Detectives seek suspect in weekend stabbing

 

On May 11, 2013 at approximately 10:56 p.m. LVMPD patrol officers responded to the 100 block of West Owens Avenue to investigate a report of a subject who had been stabbed. Arriving patrol officers discovered a male had been transported by
medical personnel to the UMC Trauma Center. The victim suffered apparent multiple stab wounds and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The preliminary investigation initiated by the LVMPD Homicide Section indicated the victim was a homeless man who was sleeping between two buildings. A passerby indicated the suspect was seen stabbing the victim and ran when confronted. The
passerby then called police.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male adult between 20 to 25 years  age, standing approximately 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing approximately 150 pounds. He is clean shaven and was last seen wearing a dark blue sweat suit, a blue cap and white tennis shoes. When confronted, the suspect left the scene on a silver BMX-style bicycle.

The identity of the victim as well as the cause and manner of death will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
