COLLISION DETAILS:

On May 8, 2013, at approximately 1:39 pm, a motorcycle / auto serious injury traffic collision occurred on North Durango Drive at the intersection with the Summerlin Parkway off‐ramp. Witness statements and evidence at the scene indicate a 2008 Toyota Scion TC was traveling north on Durango  Drive and was approaching the traffic signal light at the Summerlin Parkway off‐ramp. A Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Officer was turning left from the westbound off‐ramp of Summerlin Parkway to south bound Durango Drive. The Officer was riding a Harley Davidson Police motorcycle. The Toyota entered the intersection on a red traffic signal and impacted the left side of the Harley Davidson with the right front. The Officer was ejected from the motorcycle onto the roadway. The Toyota spun to a stop and remained at the scene. The Officer was transported to UMC Trauma with serious injuries. The operator of the Toyota remained at the scene with minor injuries. The collision remains under investigation by the LVMPDA ccident Investigation section.
