Veteran hip hop icon turned actor LL Cool J recently returned with his latest album ‘Authentic,’ and now the iconic rapper is joining forces with a few other hip hop greats in the ‘Kings of the Mic’ tour. Beginning May 23, LL Cool J along with fellow veteran rappers Ice Cube, De La Soul and Public Enemy will all be sharing the stage for the ‘Kings of the Mic’ Tour.

So what sparked the idea for this iconic tour, LL Cool J says; “I just got tired of sitting in meetings and listening to people tell me why I gotta have whoever the new young rapper is on my tour because that’s the only way it’s gonna matter. I don’t believe that. Public Enemy’s ‘My Uzi Weighs A Ton,’ I just want to see that live. Ice Cube has an amazing career, he’s done amazing things. But I didn’t forget about the music that he made as I watched him come up: ‘It Was A Good Day,’ ‘Check Yo Self.’ I just wanted to be able to share the stage with these guys.”

‘Authentic’ LL Cool J’s latest album is available now worldwide.

Also, fans will be deligthed to know that Ice Cube is currently working on his tenth album ‘Everythang’s Corrupt.’ The grand wizard of the West has released two singles, the political themed track ‘Everythang’s Corrupt’ and the most recently released single ‘Crowded.’

No date as for when Ice Cube will release his tenth album but he is hard at work not only on his album but a new Friday movie which may see the return of Chris Tucker as well as an NWA movie.

Look for Ice Cube, LL Cool J, Public Enemy and De La Soul as they hit the road together for their ‘Kings of the Mic’ tour kicking off May 23 in Tucson, Arizona.
