BET Awards Awesome Cool Preview

The 2013 BET Awards will be more awesome than ever this Sunday, 8P/7C, as it’s hosted by the ever cool and outrageously funny Chris Tucker this year. Also, the performers scheduled to appear are a veritable Who’s Who of today’s top entertainers, so the show tomorrow promises to be one that’s Must See TV.

When one thinks of the BET Awards, the word Quality with a capital “Q” comes to mind, as the show is designed to bring together the best musicians, comedians, and actors to celebrate and honor their fellow entertainers in one star-studded night.

A few of the entertainers who will be up for awards are Beyonce, Tamar Braxton, Alicia Keys, Rihanna, Elle Varner, Chris Brown, Bruno Mars, Miguel, Justin Timberlake, and Usher.

The performers up for the “Best Female R&B/Pop Artist” are Beyonce, Tamar Braxton, Alicia Keys, Rihanna, and Elle Varner.  The ones who are in the “Best Male R&B/Pop Artist” category are Chris Brown, Bruno Mars, Miguel, Justin Timbelake, and Usher.

The “Best Group” category includes Macklemore & Ryan Lewis; Mary Mary; Mindless Behavior; Slaughterhouse; and, The Throne.

The “Video of the Year” will be hotly contested, with several great groups and videos up for the award. 2 CHAINZ with Drake are nominated for “No Lie,” A$SAP Rocky, Drake, 2 CHAINZ and Kendrick Lamar are up for their song  “Problems,” Drake’s video “Started From the Bottom,” is in the running, and Drake,’s video with Lil Wayne is another contender, “HYFR.”

Other videos that are nominated for this category are Macklemore & Ryan Lewis with Wanz in the video “Thrift Shop,” Miguel’s video “Adorn,” “Diamonds” by Rihanna, Justin Timberlake with Jay-Z in their video “Suit and Tie.” and, last but not least, Kanye West with Big Sean, Pusha T and 2CHAINZ, and their video “Mercy.”

Who will perform at the 2013 BET Awards?

Some of the artists who are expected to perform Sunday evening include Nicki Minaj, Ciara, Mariah Carey, Justin Timberlake, and Chris Brown. Also, the musician “Uncle” Charlie Wilson will be presented with the Cadillac Lifetime Achievement Award for his 40 years’ worth of contributions to the music industry.

What’s more, you still have the chance to vote via Twitter to ensure that your favorite entertainer of 2013 will receive the FANdemonium Award. It’s the only award that’s exclusively in the hands of fans like YOU!

All you have to do is Hashtag the entertainer of your choice in your tweets leading up to the 2013 BET Awards, and the one who gets the most votes will be presented with the FANdemonium Champion Award.

The artists that you can vote on are Rihanna, Chris Brown, Beyonce, and Nicki Minaj. At the time of the writing of this article, Chris Brown is in the lead with 43 points, Beyonce’s in second with a respectable 31 points, Nicki Minaj is in third place with 23 points, and Rihanna is in fourth place with 13 points. The BET Experience has been going on all day long today, and will continue tomorrow. Musical acts appearing tonight at the Staples Center will be Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Miguel, Schoolboy Q, J. Cole, Cedric the Entertainer, McLyte, Too Short, and Nelly will hit the stage.

On Sunday night, the musical acts at the Staples Center will be R. Kelly, The Jacksons, and New Edition. There is still time to get tickets if you buy them now!
