As if Channing Tatum needed anything else to make him more drool-worthy to his legion of female, and male apparently, fans you can hold on to your ab trainer because he just shot up the hottie chart. According to the White House Down star while talking to host Chelsea Handler on her talkshow Chelsea Lately, Tatum admitted to shedding manly tears at the delivery of his daughter Everly.
He told Chelsea that it was extremely difficult to watch his wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum giving birth to their first baby. The 33 year-old star said, “I probably went to the bathroom four times and had a crying fit. Like, I’m just like, ‘I don’t know what to do!'”
Tatum went on to tell host Chelsea Handler that, “There’s a real reason why God did not give, like, [men] this ability to have babies. Because we would not be able to do it. You guys, I don’t know how you do it. It’s a real thing. It’s like ‘National Geographic animal-style, for real. I don’t get it.”
The other thing that will make those manly tears that Channing Tatum shed so special, will be the fact that not only had he left the room to break down but the reason behind his bursting into tears. Tatum said it was because he couldn’t stand watching his lovely wife go through all that pain with him unable to do anything about it.
Tatum told the Chelsea Lately host, “It’s like someone’s hurting someone that you love, and you can’t do anything about it. You physically cannot help.” He went on to explain that during the whole birthing process he felt pretty useless.
He said, “I’m still not helping — and the baby’s out! Men are useless, but we are really useless during this. The baby’s gonna come out whether you’re there or not.”
Tatum insisted to Chelsea Handler that he’s developed a whole new-found respect for women after watching his daughter’s birthing process.
It is quite touching to know that when his wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, was doing the Lamaze method of breathing and pushing in London, Tatum had to rush out to the toilet to have a manly cry. Tatum’s fans will love that he is sensitive enough to cry and not too proud to admit it.
Earlier in the week Hollywood hunk Tatum told how he and Jenna had posted pictures of their new baby daughter on Facebook to avoid paparazzi harassment. He explained to USA Today, “I had to smuggle myself out of the studio every day. We decided to do it on Father’s Day and put it out ourselves. That’s it. Here’s the first one and now, we’re going to live our lives.”
So there you have it, the muscled hottie who stars in White House Down was not embarrassed to admit that while his wife was giving birth to the couple’s first child, Everly, in London, Channing Tatum was shedding manly tears. We take our hat off to Channing for not succumbing to the crying jag in the delivery room. Well done!
