It now looks like the Kardashian’s (KUWTK) and Mrs Eastwood and Company will have to move over. Are you ready for LeAnn Rimes the reality TV show? That’s right, after being in the public’s eye, and the press’s firing line for two years, she is getting her own TV show.
According to People magazine, in an interview they had with the country/pop singer, LeAnn had this to say. “We’re doing a TV show based on our reality,” Rimes told the magazine. “We’ll take things out of our lives and elaborate them and make them funny. People have been laughing at us – we want them to laugh with us!”
The show will allegedly be based on LeAnn and “new hubby” Eddie Cibrian. The two met on the set of the television show Northern Lights when they were married…to other people! A short year later they left their respective partners and decided to get married to each other in 2011.
In the interview with the magazine she reflected on her life recently and the path she’d chosen to take. The 30 year old singer said, “I’ve been doing a lot of deep breathing lately, I just feel like I held my breath for so long.”
LeAnn went on to say, “I’ve grown up a lot these last five years,” she says. “I thought my life was falling apart, but now everything is good. So good, that the idea of a reality TV show with her LeAnn Rimes and her new husband Eddie Cibian seems like a move in the right direction. A move up and away from the hurt that their affair inflected on innocent people.
Rimes admitted in the interview that the recent problems she has had were mostly her own fault. She said she knows that these were “self-inflicted” and that the affair with Cibrian, age 39 was painful to a lot of people. She said, “I made some really bad choices. I caused hurt.”
About the reality TV show, Rimes said that they’d decided to do the project because, “For some reason, everyone is so interested in our lives but they don’t actually know about them.” LeAnn added, “What they read is what they see. We want to be able to take control of our lives again so we want to do a show about us, about our lives, but scripted.”
The couple have quickly settled into their new way of life with LeAnn taking on the role of stepmother to Cibrian’s two sons — Mason, 9, and Jake, 6. The boy’s mother, ex-wife Brandi Glanville has not forgiven the two for the marriage breakup and trashed the couple in the media.
But it isn’t just Brandi who is upset. Cibian and Rimes have both received harsh criticism from many other people for their actions. Now they are turning the negative backlash of their affair into a positive in the way of a television series.
According to LeAnn Rimes the couple know just what they want to achieve out of the reality TV show. They say they want the world to see how they “really” live. But so far the show has no title or network backing. They are carving out details for their show while rumours of the country singer joining Eddie’s ex Brandi for a “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” are, according to LeAnn, not true. She said, “That would never cross my mind,” Rimes confirmed. “Never in a million years!”
