(As first reported by Reza Kahlili, a former member of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, and CIA informant, in WND)
General Hassan Firouzabadi, the Iranian military chief of staff, warned President Obama not to supply aid to the Syrian rebels. He calls them terrorists, and we should leave them alone.
Firouzabadi warned; “Obama has made his most dangerous blunder today as president of the U.S. when, with the deceit of the Israelis, he issued an order of sending weapons for terrorists in Syria,” reported Fars News Agency, a media outlet run by the Revolutionary Guards.
“Today the shipment of arms to the Syrian terrorists won’t solve anything as the Syrian nation with its national army will force the Israeli mercenaries to retreat and escape,” he said.
He claims that arming, who he calls, ‘al-Qaeda terrorists,’ is similar to giving Saddam Hussein chemical weapons. He further says that eventually the weapons will be used against Syria’s people.
Firouzabadi said that overthrowing Assad would be a ‘red line’ for Iran. The Syrian regime must stand as a secure Islamic nation in the Middle East.
As reported firs in 2011 by WND, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the supreme leader of the Islamic republic, in a letter filled with threats to Obama that reportedly had been delivered by Iraqi President Jalal Talabani, warned against U.S. involvement in Syria. He threatened America with reprisals if they interfere.
During the same time period, the Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar, relayed a warning from Tehran to Turkey. They were told to refrain from intervention in Syria, or suffer dire consequences.
As WND reported exclusively last year, a joint war room was created among Iran, Hezbollah and Syria to defeat the opposition in Syria and respond to any possible attack by U.S. or NATO forces with a directive for an immediate response.
A counter attack would be initiated by the alliance. Missiles would simultaneously be launched against Israel and U.S. interests in the region.
Sunday, the London Independent claimed that Iran is sending 4,000 members of its Revolutionary Guard to assist President Assad in his fight against the rebels.
Meanwhile, Russia is continuing to supply Assad’s forces with more sophisticated weaponry.
Senator John McCain has been championing the cause of the rebels since he returned from a secret visit to Syria recently.
Obama, sounding more like George W. Bush, claimed that Assad used chemical weapons against the rebel forces. He said that for America, this was our red line.
“Following a deliberative review, our intelligence community assesses that the Assad regime has used chemical weapons, including the nerve agent sarin, on a small scale against the opposition multiple times in the last year,” said a White House statement.
Sources reported that Obama led an hour long video conference with the leaders of Great Britain, Germany, France, and Italy to build support for his actions.
Since the Syrian uprising in March 2011, at least 93,000 people, including women and children, have lost their lives and more than 1.5 million Syrians have taken refuge in neighboring countries.
For Americans, the question remains. Do we become involved in another Islamic conflict? And, what do we know about the rebel forces? Are they freedom fighters, or extremists comprised of kidnappers, criminals, and al-Qaeda terrorists?
The American public is tired of living in a wartime environment. But the government is not. Governments thrive on war. This entire situation is sounding more and more like Iraq. 300 million people would like to see ‘peacetime and prosperity’ return to the United States, but the President and 535 part-time residents of Washington want something else.
Being warned by an Iranian Commander to ‘leave Syria alone,’ means nothing. However, in 2014, and 2016 the voices of the majority, of those the 535 plus one are supposed to represent, may speak loudly, and carry a sharp pencil.
