Portia de Rossi, who plays activist Lindsay Bluth on Arrested Development, protests against the circulating rumors that she’s had plastic surgery. The Aussie actress credits veggies for her youthful appearance, not the knife, according to Perth Now.
Last week, when viewers of Season 4 of Arrested Development on Netflix saw Portia de Rossi, who is back in her role as “activist” Lindsay Funke, many fans thought that she looked different than she does in recent interviews and photos, and from Season 3, which was seven years ago.
That has been what has led to the rumors that Portia had plastic surgery. A nose job seems to be the most prevalent opinion as to what type of plastic surgery she’s had, but she denies that she’s had work done to her face.
According to E! Online, a source told them that: “She’s absolutely not had plastic surgery. Her character is clearly wearing a wig, which ended up altering her entire look.”
Though Portia de Rossi does wear a wig in some of the episodes of Arrested, there are fans that still insist that a wig, alone, doesn’t explain how different they believe she looks.
Meanwhile, according to NBC News, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia dropped $26.5 million to buy a house in Montecito, California.
She and comedian and daytime television host Ellen DeGeneres already own a horse ranch, but their new home in Montecito does have room for stables and barns. They have not decided yet if they will sell the ranch, but at least their new house has room for stables, which should please Portia, who loves to ride horses.
Reportedly, the Monetecito house that DeGeneres, along with wife Portia de Rossi, purchased is a gorgeous, bluff-front estate called the Saladino Villa.
One of the reasons that DeGeneres likes to move so often is that she likes to pick up “projects.” The 1928 built house in Montecito looks fantastic enough, though, that it probably doesn’t need to have much work done to it to make it ready to move into.
The home was designed by architect Wallace Frost, and redone by designer John Saladino around 2009. The huge residence sits on 13 acres with ocean views. Ellen and Portia’s latest home contains six bedrooms, nine fireplaces and seven baths. Their beautiful property has luscious landscaping and gracious indoor and outdoor living areas, and it is, of course, incredibly private.
Portia has mentioned in an interview with FOX411’s Pop Tarts column that Mitch Hurwitz, the creator of Arrested Development, had considered asking Ellen to be one of the many walk-on stars that appear in the episodes of Season 4, and that she almost was scheduled to appear in the series.
“Mitch wanted her to be a part of this but it didn’t come to fruition. But I would want her to play herself,” Portia said in the interview.
I, for one, enjoyed watching Arrested Development Season 4 on Netflix, and I really liked Portia de Rossi’s contribution to the series. I especially liked the episodes involving her trip to India, where she gets advice from a “guru” who turs out — unbeknownst to her — to be her daughter, Maebe, in disguise.
Whether or not Portia has had plastic surgery, in my opinion, makes no difference as to the quality of her acting and sense of comedic timing.
