50 cent or as his parents named him: Curtis Jackson, has been accused by a prosecutor of assault. He allegedly kicked a woman, and ransacked her bedroom during a fight last month. All of this took place at her apartment in LA. The woman has been identified as the rapper’s former girlfriend. According to sources: “The female had previously been in a three-year relationship with Jackson and they have a child in common.” They also confirmed that she sustained injuries after the kicking. Some speculated that 50 cent allegedly kicked the mother of his son for love, meaning that he still had feelings for her but that she doesn’t want anything to do with him. That might have been the spark for this awful display of violence.
Mike Feuer, Los Angeles City Attorney, explained that 50 cent faces five criminal charges. Including one count of domestic violence, and four of vandalism. “During an argument, Jackson allegedly began destroying the females property,” Feuer stated. “Allegedly when the female locked herself in her bedroom, Jackson kicked-open the bedroom door and kicked her, causing an injury.”
According to the police press release, several parts of the interior of the condo were destroyed, the bedroom ransacked, and clothing thrown around. Allegedly the damage that Mister Jackson left has been estimated at $7,100.
Curtis will appear before the Van Nuys Superior Court on July 22. If he gets convicted he could receive a five years in jail, and $46,000 in fines. Prosecutor Feuer added: “Regardless of perceived celebrity or notoriety, domestic violence is a serious crime, and alleged perpetrators will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law by this office, we will continue to look out for the safety of all victims of domestic violence and seek justice for the alleged crimes.” Indeed they should. 50 cent, who might have kicked the mother of his son for love, because that love was only a one way street, can’t get away with this crime if it’s truly what happened.
Internet users all over the world shook their head in unison. “First we had to deal with athletes, [Scottie Pippen], not being able to control his temper, and now we have to add 50 cent to the list as well?” Another user added: “Well, I’m shocked. …..”
Which received a witty reply: “Me too. I had no idea his name was Curtis.”
What do you think? Was there any reason for 50 cent to react this way? Isn’t it true what the prosecutor said that no matter what your status, occupation, age etc. you should never attack another human being? (Self defense is of course a whole other ball game, however it doesn’t seem to apply here.)
Sophie Doll Pope wanted to add her two cents as well. She said: “So he still got feelings for her after all these years. People that have moved on font have these episodes. Like at all. 50 grow the F up. Are you serious? Your son is what 15/16? Nigga bye!” Do you think Sophie might be on to something? Might 50 cent still habors lingering feelings for his baby momma, even though that baby is now in his teens? Does that mean that 50 cent kicked the mother of his son for love?
