Amanda Bynes appears to be in serious trouble, and in need all the help she can get. Lucky for her, her parents are more than willing to do everything they can to get her back on the right track. Nevertheless, on Thursday, they were unable to secure a conservatorship over Amanda. This won’t stop them though. Bynes’s parents claimed in a statement: “We are deeply concerned that Amanda poses a substantial risk to herself, to others and to property based on recent events in her life.” They also talked about her profound issues with her body image.
Their reasoning is that Amanda has been in a lot of trouble with the law lately. In addition, she has insulted several people, including family members, and she has refused the help people want to give her. She also seems irrational and likes to take close up self portraits. Among these pictures are several semi nude ones on a public toilet.
Her parents have stated: “Amanda has profound issues with her body image and is obsessed with the idea that she (and others) are ugly. She talks incessantly about cosmetic surgeries that she wants completed. She also encourages her mother to have plastic surgeries. We are concerned that the surgeries she wants to have are dangerous and detrimental to her health.”
In their statement, Amanda’s parents talk about their daughter being super paranoid. Supposedly she thinks she is followed everywhere, her phone lines are tapped and that cameras are watching her wherever she goes. She has tried to shake these supposed surveillance equipment by taping windows shut, covering smoke alarms with towels and protecting her car’s dashboard with tape. (This might sound overly paranoid, however, in this case she might be right.) Clearly, Bynes has profound issues with her body image, financial problems and calling people “ugly.”
Lynn and Rick Bynes also talked about the possibility that Amanda is homeless. Because, she doesn’t have a residence in California and they are uncertain about how she traveled to see her parents in July. They asked her how was she able to travel without a valid drivers license. Amanda replied that she had “cabbed it.”
Judge Glen Reiser ruled in the Ventura court today that he wants to meet Amanda in person before he makes any decisions about a conservatorship. This meeting is scheduled to take place on the 9th of August. The judge said: “This conservatee at some point needs to be here,” he added. “I need to have a dialogue with the proposed conservatee to get a gauge, I have every expectation that she will be here.” Amanda isn’t aware of these proceedings because of the facility she is in right now.
Hopefully she will be able to go to the scheduled meeting with the judge on August 9th, and by then she might be willing to accept the help of her parents. It might be the best thing for her. It worked for Britney Spears, so why wouldn’t it work for Amanda? In addition the medication she is on now, a conservatorship might help her come to terms with the former child star’s profound issues with her body image.
