As the Backstreet Boy’s tour the world and await the release of their upcoming highly anticipated album In A World Like This the youngest of the group, Nick Carter is already setting his eye on his next solo project.
Nick is currently in the process of raising $85,000 for his upcoming horror film Evil Blessings.
Nick began his fundraising earlier this week and has already raised $15,455.
According to Nick, his film Evil Blessings is described as a film about “three friends who go up to the mountains to hunt, but soon discover they are the ones being hunted by an ancient family of evil.”
Nick also stated; “most of you already know that I’m passionate about music, but what you don’t know, is that I’m HUGE horror fan as well. To that end, I’m about to start down the path of my other dream: to become a film producer and screenwriter. And my first venture is to produce a horror film I also co-wrote and star in called Evil Blessings.”
Those wishing to contribute to Nick Carter’s film have 46 days left to sign on to Indiegogo fundraiser. Those who donate will receive incentives such as personal tweets, tickets to a Backstreet Boys concert, invites to the film’s premiere and meet & greet with Carter along with a role in the film.
Evil Blessings is not Nick’s first venture on his own. The Backstreet Boy has released a few solo albums and back in 2000 released a comic book. The comic book featured each of the Backstreet Boys as superhero’s and was well received by fans and Nick’s fellow band mates.
So, this no surprise that Nick wants to tap into film. Fans since his debut with Backstreet knew of Nick’s passion for horror films and now the world will get to see Nick’s other passion.
The question remains though, will Nick Carter’s first horror film make a blockbuster hit to go along with his many Backstreet accolades?
In a World Like This, the Backstreet Boys upcoming album, hits store shelves this Tuesday (July 30th.)
Nick’s latest solo album I’m Taking Off is available now on iTunes.
