Billy Ray Cyrus Calls Off Achy Breaky Divorce

Billy Ray Cyrus Calls Off His Achy Breaky Divorce

Well it looks like Billy Ray Cyrus listened to daughter Miley and the achy breaky divorce between him and his wife of 19 years, Tish Cyrus has been called off. A rep for the couple confirmed the news to ABC News.

In the statement, Miley Cyrus’s parents said, “We both woke up and realized we love each other and decided we want to stay together. We’ve had rough times but we both realized we didn’t want to be another statistic and wanted to make it work.”

The 51 year-old country star and his 53 year-old second wife jointly announced that their marriage was over back in June of this year. Miley Cyrus was not best pleased by the announcement and actually castigated Billy Ray Cyrus via her account of Twitter.

Miley has been seen to be supporting Tish very publicly and the two went out for some “retail therapy” together recently.

The country couple have been working on improving their relationship since their joint announcement. Their statement included the new that they’ve been going to therapy. The statement continued, “We both went into couples therapy – something we haven’t done in 22 years of being together, and it’s brought us closer together and really opened up our communication in amazing ways. Tish also said marriage can be really hard especially after 22 years of being in entertainment.”

The couple have three children together – 20 year-old Miley, 19 year-old Braison, and 13 year-old Noah. Billy Ray Cyrus also adopted Tish’s two children from a previous relationship 26 year-old Brandi, and 24 year-old Trace.

Cyrus’s wife Tish initially filed for the divorce on June 13 after 19 years of marriage. The Achy Breaky singer then counter filed shortly after. Billy Ray Cyrus had actually filed for divorce back in October 2010. But he had a change of heart and dropped it in March 2011, saying that “I want to put my family back together. Things are the best they’ve ever been.” But after that announcement in 2011, things began to get a bit rough. After the couple had a chance to “cool down” they’ve decided to stick together.

Miley will definitely be happy to hear that her parents have called the divorce off and are working hard to get their relationship back on track. The We Can’t Stop singer has made no secret of the fact that she wasn’t pleased that her parents were heading back down on the divorce road when the pair made their announcement in June.

It made sense that Miley would support Mom Tish. The two gals are very supportive of each other as you can witness by looking at Tish Cyrus’ verified Twitter account. Tish is a one woman cheerleading section for Miley as her tweets show. Miley appears to be closer to Mom than to Dad as her tweets showed when she learned of their latest divorce.

So Billy Ray Cyrus has called off his latest Achy Breaky divorce to his second wife of 19 years. This is Billy Ray’s second marriage. In 1986 he married Cindy Smith, who he co-wrote the songs Wher’m I Gonna Live and Some Gave All. They divorced in 1991 and he married Tish in 1993.
