A neighbor called 911 on what was thought to be domestic abuse next door, turns out the woman was only yelling at her boyfriend to stop farting.

Clawson, Michigan- Police were responded to a 911 call on July 3 regarding a suspected case of domestic violence, only to find that the couple was only fighting over the excessive farting of the boyfriend.

A neighbor phoned the authorities after overhearing what was thought to be a fight between the two.

Clawson Police Chief Harry Anderson explained to Marie Osborne on WWJ Newsradio 950 “One of the neighbors had heard somebody yelling — a female yelling … she was possibly being hit — yelling, ‘Stop! No!’”

Police arrived at the scene shortly after receiving the call, only to find a surprised girlfriend explaining that she was indeed yelling at her boyfriend. However she was not doing so because they were fighting, but rather because her boyfriend would not stop farting.

“The female that was inside stated that her boyfriend had continued to pass gas, and she was yelling at him to stop,” Anderson explained.

The humor of the situation was not missed by the police, their report of the incident states that they “cleared the scene expeditiously.”

Working in a field such as law enforcement does not typically produce situations as humorous as this, and Anderson acknowledged that, admitting that this call was “one for the books.”

It’s not every day that the police have to respond to excessive farting, maybe the boyfriend will take it easy on the beans in the future.
