Edward Snowden Nominated for Nobel Peace Prize

A Swedish professor has nominated NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden for the ‘Nobel Peace Prize.’  He said it could restore honor to the organization, and “save the prize from the disrepute incurred by the hasty and ill-conceived decision” to give the 2009 award to Barack Obama.

In his letter to the Norwegian Nobel Committee, he praised Snowden, calling his actions, an “heroic effort at great personal cost.” He stated that by revealing the existence and the scale of the US surveillance programs, Snowden showed “individuals can stand up for fundamental rights and freedoms.”

Bradley Manning has also been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. Bradley leaked evidence of illegal dealings between the US Government and other countries and he leaked war crimes committed by US troops. If anyone deserves the Nobel Peace Prize it would be Bradley Manning.
