A series of explosions at the Blue Rhino gas plant in Lake County, Florida have caused multiple deaths and injuries. Residents a mile away from the plant have been evacuated. The first explosions started began a little before 11 p.m. last night inside the plant and lasted for about thirty minutes, according to Lake County Sheriff Gary Borders. Then they began again at about 12:30 this morning. These were so intense that Tavares Fire Chief Richard Keith had to pull his firefighters out for fear that they would be injured.
Of the 24 people working the night at the propane-tank business, 15 people were unaccounted of as of this morning, according to Tavares City Administrator John Drury The number of injured is not yet known.
