COLLISIONDETAILS:
On July 10, 2013, at approximately 1:39 am, a serious injury auto/pedestrian collision occurred at 200 West Boston Avenue. Witness statements and evidence at the scene indicate a 1999 Dodge Durango was traveling south on Fairfield Avenue when the operator failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. The Dodge crossed the centerline and drove off the left side ofthe roadway. The operator attempted to regain control of the vehicle and it traveled westbound into the parking lot ofthe convenience store located at 200 W. Boston Avenue. The front of the Dodge impacted a pedestrian and the leftside of an unoccupied 2011 Chevrolet Camaro. The impact caused the Camaro tomove west and the rightrear ofthe vehicle impacted an unoccupied 2003 Lexus RX300.

The pedestrian was transported to UMC Trauma with serious injuries. The operator oftheDodge was arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and reckless driving. The collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD Accident investigation Section.
