Chicago: Suspect Wanted for Attempted Luring on District 12thAbout the Crime:

On August 5th, 2013 at approximately 4:00 pm, a lone 14 year old female was walking east bound in the 1600 block of West 18th St. when she was approached by two male Hispanic offenders in a black pick up truck. The passenger called to the victim and asked her to come to the vehicle, stating that he wanted to take her picture. The offenders followed the victim down the street and onto the 1700 block of South Laflin St. where one of the offenders exited the vehicle. The victim was able to flee towards a crowd of people near 17th St. at which point the offender reentered the truck, which sped away westbound on 16th St.

About the Offenders:

Offenders are described as:

Passenger: Male, White Hispanic, approximately 30 years in age, 5 feet 6 inches in height, 170 pounds with short brown hair and an olive complexion

Driver: Male, White Hispanic, approximately 30 years in age

Offenders Vehicle: smaller black pick up truck with tinted side windows and with a white tarp over the bed. The passenger side mirror of this vehicle was cracked.

What you can do:

• Be aware of this situation and alert your neighbors.
• Call 911 to report any suspicious persons, vehicle or activity in your neighborhood.
• Do not let children walk alone. Identify safe havens along your child’s route to school, and to home, such as a business or trusted neighbors.
• Find out hot to start a Parent Patrol or Walking School Bus Program at your child’s school. If you have any information about this incident,
