Chris Brown received 1000 more hours of community service today and had his probation reinstated in a LA courtroom. The singer was originally placed on probation after he assaulted his then girlfriend Rihanna in 2009. That probation was revoked in light of hit and run charges filed against Brown in May.
Brown has a choice of duties to perform in order to satisfy his community service requirements. He can remove graffiti, work for Caltrans cleaning up California’s highways or remove trash from the state’s beaches. The judge did stipulate that Brown must perform his community service hours in California. This was after the LA District attorney lodged a complaint that Brown faked some of his community service reports. In one instance, Brown reported that he had been picking up trash one day from 10 am to 6 pm when he in fact had boarded a private plane to Cancun, Mexico at 4 that afternoon.
The prosecutor agreed to withdraw his petition to revoke Brown’s probation in light of his latest hit and run charges. Back in May, Brown allegedly rear ended the Mercedes of Olga Gure. Ms. Gure reportedly attempted to exchange information with Chris Brown but he refused. Brown’s off again on again girlfriend, Karruche Tran, was driving with Brown during the time of the accident. Those hit and run charges were dismissed earlier this week in a LA courtroom.
This latest agreement was reached after Brown’s attorney and the LA District Attorney met with Judge James Brandin in the judge’s chambers. Chris Brown has 48 hours to report to his probation officer and must complete all his community service hours by 2014.
