On August 8, 2013 at approximately 11:15 p.m. the LVMPD Dispatch Center received numerous calls indicating an unknown black male adult was randomly stabbing individuals near the intersection of Harmon Avenue and Koval Lane. Arriving officers and medical personnel located four individuals who had been attacked by this suspect. All four victims were transported to University Medical Center for treatment of what was described as non-life threatening injuries.
At approximately 11:30 p.m. LVMPD Patrol Officers located the suspect, identified as Lee Sanford, 53 years of age of Las Vegas, inside of a fast food restaurant at the intersection of Harmon Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard. Sanford, who was holding a large knife, followed the officer’s instructions to drop the weapon and was taken into custody without incident. Following treatment for a minor laceration to his hand by on-scene medical personnel, Sanford was transported to the Clark County Detention Center where he was booked on four counts of battery with

Detectives from the LVMPD Violent Crimes Section are conducting the follow-up investigation into this incident. At this time it appears there was no prior association between Sanford and his victims, and the attacks were random in nature.
