Despite those stubborn rumours that keep insisting that Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are a “solid” couple, incidents like the Paranoia premiere happen. Looking at footage of the couple arriving at the red carpet and posing for pictures, the expressions on their faces say one thing, “Unhappy.”
The two showed up on August 8 in Los Angeles for the red carpet premiere of Hemsworth’s newest film Paranoia. The 23 year-old actor was dressed in his finest BOSS threads and the 20 year-old singer was actually wearing something more than her usual scanty selection of clothing. She looked a million dollars in a Proenza Schouler dress and a pair of Celine heels.
But their body language and facial expressions did not match the couple’s glamorous attire. It was obviously a chore for the two of them to be sharing the same space and the only time that Miley really looked happy was when she greeted someone else at the red carpet event.
A source close to the couple told Us Weekly that the couple were not “into” each other at all, in fact they said that you would have thought that they were strangers. They went on to say, “Miley and Liam acted like they didn’t even know each other the entire night. She was wearing her ring but they acted as if they were strangers.”
As the paparazzi clamoured for the couple to “stand closer” and for Miley to kiss Liam a few times, both the young stars looked uncomfortable and awkward. Both Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth looked very unhappy together at the Paranoia premiere, whether they were kissing or not.
Hemsworth ignored any questions about the singer while he was on the red carpet with what appeared to be a very uncomfortable Miley on his arm. But he did say that he doesn’t really like talking about his love life. Either in person or on internet social websites.
Liam said, “On Twitter, I don’t share anything personal. I try to keep as much of my personal life to myself. I don’t feel the need to go out and show the world what’s happening in my life every second. I think it’s a good chance to connect with fans and give fans an inside look on films you do. I think it’s great for that kind of thing, but it’s very new to me.”
The Twitter comment sounded like a bit of a “dig” against Miley, who is always popping onto her account to tweet news to her fans about how things are going. From the outside looking in, it appears that the cracks noticed in the young couple’s relationship are stretching into chasms.
The couple got engaged back in June 2012 after Liam presented Miley with a 3.5 carat diamond ring. But then they both called time on the engagement at the beginning of summer. A source close to the couple told Us Weekly at the time, “At first they were yin and yang, balancing each other out. But they got more and more out of sync.”
Of course there was also the infamous Hemsworth “intervention” when Liam’s brother’s Chris and Luke tried to talk him out of marrying Miley. Another source said at the time, “Liam’s loved ones think he needs someone more stable.
According to yet another insider, each time his brother’s have spoken to Liam, he’s become that bit more receptive to the idea. Miley has always claimed that there is no truth to the rumour that they are breaking up.
On her June 26 spot on Good Morning America, she responded to the question of whether she and Liam were still planning to marry with, “I’m wearing a ring, so. . .” But the sight of Miley Cyrus and Hemsworth both looking and acting very unhappy together at the Paranoia premiere, it looks like they would have preferred not to be there as a couple.
