Miley Cyrus responded to some of her critics on Monday via her Twitter account. The former star of the TV show, Hanna Montana, who has recently revamped her image and is now known for twerking, tweeted, “I know what color my skin is. You can stop with the friendly reminders b—h.” Cyrus didn’t name any names so it is difficult to know who this comment was aimed at, but the former Disney child star has been facing criticism ever since she debuted her new image.
Miley showed off her new, edgier, platinum blonde pixie cut during a July appearance on Good Morning America. Recently Cyrus has been photographed wearing revealing clothing both on and off the stage.
Cyrus has also gained a lot of attention for her Twerking abilities. The hip hop duo, The Ying Yang Twins released a twerk song earlier this summer titled, “Miley Cyrus.” Rapper Soulja Boy also released a song called, “Twerkin Like Miley“. Hip Hop Mogul Jay Z even mentioned Miley Cyrus’ dancing in his “Somewhere in America” song. His lyrics read, “Miley Cyrus is still twerkin.”
Singer Miley Cyrus started becoming well known for her dance skills when she released a video of herself twerkin to the song, “Wop,” by J Dash. Miley is the daughter of country singer, Billy Ray Cyrus who is famous for his hit, “Achy Breaky Heart.” Miley starred in the Disney series, Hanna Montana, from 2006 until 2011.
