If you didn’t get enough of a partially clothed Miley Cyrus in the We Can’t Stop video, she’s in Big Sean’s Fire video strutting it for the camera and another set of eclectic “almost” outfits. You can see what we mean by watching the video down below.
Big Sean wrote that he chose Miley to be in his video for a reason. He said he wanted a special person to be in his special video.
He wrote, “I teamed up w/ Miley Cyrus for this video because she’s somebody who’s had a personal evolution as a lot of us have had. Besides all the personal stories I tell in the song…there are so many other ways people can make it through the fire. i think Miley did a great job as a metaphor for strong women, being a strong person after heartbreak (hence the burning pic that could symbolize her old romance) , or maybe even deeper problems, but in the end remaining as elegant as a rose.”
Big Sean also said that it was, “a special video for a special song.”
In the video Miley lounges around in a succession of small outfits, including her favourite mode of apparel short-shorts. She also drapes a see-through raincoat over her shoulder while standing smoulderingly in a bra and, again, shorts.
The imagery of the video is very good and the shots of multi-coloured Miley combined with her symbolic burning in some shots speak volumes and transcend the visuals of the music video into poetry with a camera lense. But despite the haunting beauty of the shots, there is a sad feel to the pictorial pieces.
The sad feeling of Miley Cyrus strutting partially clothed though Big Sean’s music video for his single Fire is because her posturing and posing is the stuff of adolescent dreams and not grown up as she so badly wants to be. No wonder she looks more sad than sexy.
It’s as if the former Hannah Montana star has realised that she’s trying to take her sexy new image to a more grown up and less playful level but hasn’t quite made it yet. Although Miley is hard on target to shed her squeaky clean Disney image, she still needs to learn that sensuous doesn’t mean glowering meaningfully at the camera.
Perhaps as she and her musical friends get older they’ll learn what true sensuality is and how to convey it. Until then, her make believe passion will do nicely for her fans in Big Sean’s music video for Fire.
But Miley is apparently very happy with her effort for pal Big Sean. She tweeted to fans: “Thank y’all so much. #fire is going crazy.”
As she continues to break away from her childhood image of a Disney type princess, she has conceded that the journey has been a difficult one. Speaking to The Associated Press, she said, “I think some people kind of fall off and they end up going crazy because you don’t give yourself time to go crazy.”
She finished by saying, “That’s what you’re supposed to do; you are 20, you are supposed to be a mess because you haven’t figured it out yet, and 10 years from now I am supposed to have it all together.”
While Miley Cyrus continues to shed her goody-two-shoes image and work on getting it “all together” she’ll keep doing what she does best. Performing is in her blood, whether it is doing her own music or strutting her partially clothed stuff for musical friends like Big Sean in his Fire video. We think she’s working hard on taking it up to the next level. Watch the video below and see what you think.
