South Africa – Paralympics track star referred to as the Blade runner Oscar Pistorius will return to court on Monday August 19 for a procedural hearing. This is the third time he will be back in court since the devastating Valentine’s Day shooting at his Pretoria home that caused the death of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
As the hearing is being held in a magistrate’s court, a trial date will probably be set for a high court trial, based on the intensity of the circumstances of the crime.
It is expected that both the defense and state legal teams will not present any arguments on this day. It is reported that the police have finished their investigation into the murder charge and had sought help from Interpol to analyze the Smartphone of Oscar Pistorius.
The last court appearance held on June 4 was over within an hour when the case was postponed until August 19.
Since the postponement, there has been little activity surrounding the situation and the only media event was the leakage of the bloody murder scene photos, which could remain a critical factor in this case.
Oscar has remained elusive and out of the public eye, he was back in training, but it was understood, not for competitive reasons but more on a personal level.
Monday will see another high contingent of international media converge in Pretoria and will report on the events as they happen.
Oscar Pistorius has remained adamant that he did not commit a premeditated murder and disputes the charges against him.
