Republicans are running scared. And as they run, they are displaying their hypocrisy. CNN and NBC are both in the process of creating broadcasts about Hillary Clinton. Republicans are claiming prejudicial interest regarding Ms. Clinton. Republicans say they plan to boycott CNN and NBC. It seems only fair, Democrats continue to fight the bias of FOX and boycott the right-wing channel.
Reince Priebus, chairman of the Republican National Committee recently criticized the two networks for lengthy films he believes are in praise of Ms. Clinton. In the RNC summer meetings, Republicans agreed to boycott the networks, and not allow them to host their primaries.
I don’t think that’s fair. If they’re half as entertaining as the primaries in 2012, they’ll be removing a great deal of laughter for the audience, and a source of material for comedy writers.
I know they’ll still happen, but on FOX or other networks owned by their wealthy supporters. And they just won’t be as humorous.
“A network that spends millions of dollars to spotlight Hillary Clinton is a network with obvious bias and that is a network that won’t be hosting a single Republican primary debate,” Priebus told the RNC meeting.
“It’s the right thing to do for our voters. They’re not going to get a real debate of substance if it’s run by a network who wants to help out Hillary Clinton.”
Yesterday George W. Bush’s daughter, Barbara said that she believes Hillary Clinton should run for the White House in 2016. The party that continually wages war on women is desperately searching for ways to discredit the former Secretary of State. With the exception of wives and daughters who are controlled by the men in their lives, Ms. Clinton would receive a vast majority of women’s votes, and many men such as myself. I’ve told my wife for years that ‘it’s time to turn over control of our nation to a woman, men have been screwing it up for 237 years.’
NBC’s four hour mini-series is being produced by their entertainment division, not the news division. It will star Diane Lane as Ms. Clinton. CNN’s documentary will air next year, and premier in movie theaters.
CNN issued a statement professing their disappointment that the Republican Party decided to take such action, before they’ve even witnessed the production.
“This documentary will be a non-fiction look at the life of a former First Lady and Secretary of State,” it said. “The project is in the very early stages of development, months from completion with most of the reporting and the interviewing still to be done. Therefore speculation about the final program is just that.
“We encouraged all interested parties to wait until the program premieres before judgments are made about it. Unfortunately, the RNC was not willing to do that.”
Fear makes people do strange things. Fear gave “W” a second term. Fear of Hillary is causing the Republican Party to boycott CNN and NBC, just as Democrats have done for years with FOX news. The difference is that FOX truly is biased, and owned by the Republican Party.
