A plane crash in Conway South Carolina left three people dead on Saturday.
James Major Jr. 39, Kenneth Piuma, 42, and Donald dale Decker, 16, all of SC were killed when their twin engine plane crashed approximately 3 miles from Conway-Horry County Airport. Major’s father, James Major Sr. described his son as an experienced pilot used to flying in the area.
Jessica Scott Witnessed the crash. She stated the plane was flying low and struck a utility pole before spinning into the ground. Scott said “People were trying to get them out. I don’t think they died from the crash. They were still moving. … It killed me to see that man shaking. I’ve never seen anybody die.” Local residents attempted to rescue the men from the plane but fire and smoke kept them at bay.
Conway police have secured the scene and FAA investigators were on scene late Saturday afternoon.
