Jennifer Lawrence’s Naked Mystique

Jennifer Lawrence's Naked Mystique

We did mention it before, but it seems that no one really caught onto the fact that Jennifer Lawrence is naked when she plays X-Men mutant Mystique. The first actress to bare all in the name of her art was Rebecca Romijn who was the original chameleon type mutant. Romijn went on to play the role in her body-painted birthday suit another three times counting her uncredited appearance in X-Men First Class.

Jennifer played Mystique in X-Men First Class as well, but a younger version of the villainous Mutant. Although the first time she appeared in her body paint costume, no-one harked back to all that publicity from the first X-Men film and all the hype that surrounded Romijn’s nudity. The media put a lot of emphasis on the fact that only a thin layer of paint spared the actress’s blushes. They also spent quite a bit of ink on the fact that Rebecca’s figure was practically perfect, but not in a Mary Poppins sort of way.

Now Jennifer has “donned the paint” again, so to speak, and the 23 year-old Hunger Games star has said that she is getting used to all that running around sans clothes. It should come as no real surprise, this is the same young lady who confessed to enjoying going to the toilet in the sea while still in costume.

Speaking to SciFiNow about the upcoming film, X-Men: Days of Future Past, which is in post production right now, she said, “I’m naked.” We’ve gotten used to Jennifer and her forthright announcements. It is one of the things that endures her to fans. She did mention that when she does actually get to wear clothing in the film that she loved the 1970s style clothes.

Apparently Jennifer Lawrence’s naked Mystique is going back to its roots to resemble the first Mystique’s body paint costume. Jennifer has said that they used the same paint, but that the mutant is different in this film. For one thing, the first time that Jennifer played the character she was covered up more. As Lawrence put it, Mystique was struggling with her mutation identity.

In the new film X-Men: Days of Future Past, Jennifer says that her character is, “mutant and proud.”

The film is, like its predecessors, based on Chris Claremont’s popular Marvel comic-book series. X-Men: Days of Future Past has Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine sent back in time to affect events and change history. The film has an all star cast and will have Michael Fassbender, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Ellen Page, Anna Paquin, and Halle Berry, who will reprise their X-Men roles.

Jennifer Lawrence has not only won our hearts, but she also won an Oscar for her knock-out performance in Silver Linings Playbook. The award winning actress will be in the second of the Hunger Games trilogy, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire later this year.

The actress may be feeling more comfortable performing in basically her birthday suit, but she has pointed out that her costume was a combination of body paint and bodysuit. We’ll leave it up to your imagination as to which bits cover what “bits” of the actress!

All of Jennifer Lawrence’s fans will be eagerly looking forward to seeing her “naked” Mystique next year. This year, they will have to settle with a fully clothed Katniss Everdeen in the second instalment of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire due to open in cinemas on November 22, 2013.
