This morning, a Live Google+ Hangout event was announced by Nicholas Kristof of the New York Times. The live interview, which takes place on Tuesday, September 10, at 2 p.m. EST, will give US Secretary of State John Kerry an opportunity to discuss foreign policy toward Syria and related issues.
The timing of the event suggests that Kerry is working on improving public relations, especially in light of incredibly low domestic and international support for launching strikes against the country.
In his announcement, Kristof encourages internet users to “jump into the conversation on the event page and leave us your questions there,” emphasizing that “we want to involve teachers and students, so spread the word in the schools, please, and student questions are particularly welcome!” Journalist Lara Setrakian and educator Andrew Beite will also be participating tomorrow.
