Lance Bass has gotten engaged to his boyfriend Michael Turchin! Just after Lance participated in the NSYNC reunion for the MTV VMA event, Lance asked Michael to marry him and he said yes.
The two starting dating in December 2011 and Lance proposed in New Orleans and presented Turchin with a black diamond ring. Bass actually sent a text to his soon-to-be husband and asked for their permission before he popped the question to his boyfriend.
Lance came out about being gay back in 2006. At the time Bass was dating the Amazing Race winner Reichen Lehmkuhl. Their relationship got a lot of attention from the media and this prompted Bass to come out. Although he stated that the relationship with Reichen was solid, the couple spit up soon after Lance came out. In 2006, Bass also revealed that he suffered from Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD).

Lance was also a very happy man. He wasn’t just pleased that Michael had said yes to his marriage proposal. He was happy to perform with his old NSYNC crew for the first time since he had come out in 2006. Before Lance came out, he dated actress Danielle Fishel from the television program Boy Meets World. The two were in a relationship through 1999 and 2000. Danielle said at the time that she was in love with Bass. But he broke things off with Danielle after a year. He continued to date women until he was 22 years-old.
The 34 year-old performer came out as gay in a cover story for People magazine on July 26, 2006. In the interview, Lance said, “The thing is, I’m not ashamed – that’s the one thing I want to say. I don’t think it’s wrong, I’m not devastated going through this. I’m more liberated and happy than I’ve been my whole life. I’m just happy.”
Bass’s coming out got a lot of press. The public responded positively to the news and Lance said that he got “overwhelming support” from many of NSYNC fans.
