Miley Warns Bieber: ‘Don’t Become a Joke’
In a classic case of “pot, meet kettle,” Miley Cyrus has warned Justin Bieber that he should be careful not to “become a joke.”
Cyrus herself has made quite a few headlines in recent weeks for her VMA antics, which involved her cavorting around the stage in a nude colored bikini, twerking with singer Robin Thicke and appearing to masturbate with a foam finger. Her Wrecking Ball video, where she appeared nude, riding a wrecking ball and provocatively licking a sledge hammer also raised eyebrows. And of course, her very public breakup with Liam Hemsworth has not gone unnoticed.
Bieber has had his share of negative publicity as well. In July, TMZ posted a video of the drunken teen urinating in a mop bucket and then proceeding to spray a photo of former President Bill Clinton with cleaning fluid while proclaiming, “F*** Bill Clinton!” Later that same month, photos were posted purporting to show The Biebs spitting on fans from off a Toronto hotel balcony. And, although these photos were claimed to be fakes, these events have still managed to tarnish the singer’s reputation.
In her interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Cyrus says that she is sort of a mentor to him, because she has already made the successful switch from child star to adult and he is still transitioning.
Cyrus says, in her opinion, that Bieber’s problems with the media stem from the fact that boys are less mature than girls, “so in his head, he’s really like, 12.”
She also notes that people do not take his work as an artist seriously, but he is actually a really talented performer who can play drums, play guitar and sing and she doesn’t want to see him “f*** that up, to where people think he’s Vanilla Ice.”
Miley’s other words of advice to Bieber? ‘You don’t want to become a joke.” she warns. “When you go out, don’t start s**t. Don’t come in shirtless.” Interesting advice from someone who seems more comfortable in the buff than clothed.
Cyrus also talked about her strange relationship with actor Stephen Baldwin, revealing that he got a “f***ed up” Hannah Montana tattoo because of her. “He said he was my biggest fan, and I told him my biggest fans have tattoos,” she explained. “So he got ‘HM’ tattooed on his shoulder. ”
And of course, Cyrus also took on the topic of her controversial VMA performance, saying that they “could have gone even further, but we didn’t.” She added, “You’re not supposed to show up in a gown, Vanna White-style.”
She also admits that she did not think her performance was sexy, saying that her balled up pigtails and stuck-out tongue made her look like “a little creature.”
The new interview in which Miley counsels Bieber to not become a joke will appear in the October 10 issue of the magazine.
